Accommodation in the House of Pilgrimage The House of Pilgrimage has been a part of the complex of pilgrimage since the middle of the 19th century. The house was purchased by the Redemptorists from a private person in 1901. Subsequently, the house was used for accommodation of pilgrims. It also served as a cultural centre: there were given diverse performances. Moreover, retreats took place in the house until 1945. During the communist time the House of Pilgrimage became a prison for religious people. The State Agricultural Co-operatives used, and damaged it later on. The house was reconstructed in 1990-1993; the costs were covered by the Redemptorists and by countrymen who provided money by means of Franz Jentschke from Bremen.
The House of Pilgrimage is opened the whole year nowadays. Either in summer or in winter it is a very suitable place for spending family holidays, for diverse courses, seminars or lectures, retreats, stays of schools, ski courses, wedding receptions etc. In the surroundings there are eight ski centres 10km far from the Mountain of Mother of God. Moreover, there is the possibility of cross-country skiing with marvellous views of nature. There is a dam where boats are lent as well. The restaurant downstairs offers full board.
